Top Underground Hip-Hop Albums of 2007
PEACE. Every year, Hip-Hop Linguistics creates two lists. One list contains the top hip-hop albums from major mainstream, underground and independent record labels. The other list contains the top hip-hop albums from minor independent labels and unsigned hip-hop artists. The first list contains artists you’ve likely heard of, while the second list contains artists you’ve probably not heard of.
This is that second list - our favorite hip-hop albums from cats you’ve probably never heard of. that Ohene is off the hook! i don’t care what year it dropped. even if HHL is behind on it, at least they mentioned it, right?
i agree that some of the albums on this list are wack - but some are dope. and they’re all indie cats, so what do you expect? either way, i trust that there is a reason each of these albums was listed on HHL. good shit on representing the deep underground!

Maybe HHL should compile a third list consisting of the other two lists combined. Ohene would be at the top with Brother Ali. 2007 was the year of the lesser known artists for me.
