Great response! Well, I do actually read your reviews. I review hiphop myself, only, the site i’m doing it on is danish, so giving you a link probably woulden’t help… But I can tell you this; I’ve enjoyed reading your reviews for a long time now, and I often find your reviews inspirational – and I kinda envy your ability to dive into the lyrical universe as well as you do. But that IS what HHL is all about I guess. I’m all the way into lyrics, but I guess beats are my main thing, even though dope hip hop is a result of both.

But a huge ‘big up’ for your site – this being said from a collegue hiphop-reviewer and a fan!

Peace Jeppe. Good point. I guess there all my favorites. Thank you for reading so closely – didn’t think anybody actually read the reviews.

To answer your question, I guess I’d have to say that ScholarMan is my favorite underground emcee. Kweli is my favorite lyricist. Thought is my favorite rapper. And K-os is my favorite musician. However, I could probably add five cats to each of those lists … there’s just a lot of dope hip-hop out there!

I’d like to ask a question:
In this review, you say that ScholarMan is your fav’ mc. In your review of Game Theory, you say that Black THought is your fav’ mc. On Eardrum, Talib Kweli is your fav’ mc, and your recent reviews kinda insinuate that K-os is your fav’ mc. My question to you; who is actually your fav’ mc?

Deeply sorry for your loss, homie. Your review of ScholarMan’s album was extremely moving. In an period in which a great deal of hip hop music is credited with so-called negative influences on society, this clearly shows how there remains to be hip hop that can bring about positive influences. In particular with your situation, and maybe most importantly, hip hop has the power to heal. As for the “realness”, your review here is as real as it comes. I am sure your grandfather is looking down with pride in that his one final message that he chose to share with you is being and will continue to be carried on. May he rest in peace. Stay up, homie.
