Track of the Week: Prolyphic and Reanimator “Dick and Jane”

This week’s track of the week is from Strange Famous newcomers Prolyphic and Reanimator - an up and coming duo making a lot of noise in the underground. Dick and Jane is off of Prolyphic and Reanimator’s new album “The Ugly Truth,” which has a review coming soon, and features Australian rapper Macromantics. Both emcees drop incredible verses in this one. Click below to listen:
And follow along with the lyrics after the break.
[Verse 1 – Prolyphic]
We live in a plain/
Dick and Jane world/
Where everything’s the same/
And nothing can change/
It remains in a systematic cycle/
Where Kristen marries Michael/
Has two kids/
To add to the list/
Of Dicks and Janes/
Happiness that fits in a frame/
They’ll live in a bliss ignorant to the ways/
That the game is fixed and the magic is fake/
But they wish and they pray and they practice their faith/
Blindfolded high-holders/
And I notice their concern/
With the score and the stats/
Then the war in Iraq/
And you think this is God’s will/
You watch the economy rise but you’re out of a job still/
Can’t speak for themselves/
So they use ‘em and abuse ‘em go through ‘em like they keep ‘em on shelves/
Mass produced and moved in rows like cattle/
With bag full of things they don’t need/
And they shall proceed/
By feeding their face/
To obesity weights/
With plates of meats and processed foods/
Though they’re not healthy, but FDA approved/
They need pills to wake up, pills to go to sleep/
They still don’t get enough calcium and vitamin C/
They all wanna be on TV and tape it when it airs/
And everyone of them would sell their soul to be a millionaire/
[Verse 2 – Macromantics]
There’s a war on terror and a war with self/
We fall from metal to a morning’s melt/
I’m wanting hell with fire and ice/
We’re tired our eyes get the wired and wide/
I’ve sided with life/
The lockets and letches/
The doctor’s apprentice/
That’s lost and depressed/
As the blood in your beds/
Got hot knockers and necklace/
Dangles, hangs and vomits asbestos/
Registered henchman hacking in heads/
The matchsticks and tactics them backing the French/
Side with us or side with them/
And see selves get bent/
We buy the lemon tree fried/
Cheddar cheese standard approval/
They laugh at the homeless and pamper the crudal/
Hand on the bugle/
Blast the death march/
Attached to the movie with ass and sex parts/
Laugh off their heads/
God hazardously threatens free/
While women bare as a fashion accessory/
Turn mind to double standards/
Good far from answers/
Just Colonel Sanders/
Big fat belly the western Buddha/
Control their minds infect the sugar/
Tears roll down cotton candy cows/
Call me Jane, Dick can come take my panties down/
Note: Due to Macromantics’ accent, I had to guess on a couple of her lyrics here. Feel free to comment if you know the correct lyrics, and I’ll make sure they’re changed.
