No doubt. No chance obviously, but at least the party is giving her a larger platform to address the issues she fights for.

I think people should understand what “chance” is.
She has a reasonable chance to get 5% of the vote. Her campaign and the Green Party then gets MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in federal funding. That’s how a party moves towards national major party status. Those millions of dollars fund the next presidential run.
In addition many state Green Parties get ballot status so they can win local elections.
There are about 230 Greens elected locally already.
Yes Rosa Clemente has a REAL CHANCE to create a MOVEMENT and Party that WILL get People Elected.
They don’t teach this in schools or mention this in the media to make sure the voters aren’t informed that this is a REAL CHANCE.

I hear ya Green. And in a normal election, I would totally agree – as the Green Party normally gets my vote. However, I refuse to make the same mistake I made in 2000, when I voted for Nader – an act that almost certainly gave Bush the presidency.
This election is too important. We need to rally behind Obama and hope for a viable third party later down the road.

GreenGenes – I agree with you 1000%. Like Nat, I have never voted for a Repub or Dem in the presidential election in my lifetime – I’ve always been third party. Check this site a bit and you might find some of my old rants about the 5% you speak of. People always told me I was crazy and wasting my votes, but I do understand the importance of multiple parties – hell, I would like a nine party system and the downfall of the Repub/Dem dynamic if it could happen.
And here’s the but… But, as Nat points out, I regreted my last Nader vote. Not because Nader didn’t get that 5% like I wanted, but because of what W has continued to do in the 4 years since. I simply cannot let myself regret that THIS TIME. But maybe “later down the road”, I can get back onto my nine party system approach. Unfortunately, I will be one that bails on you this year, because my vote is going to Obama.
But I do commend you for your approach and I support your ideals fully. I’d try to talk you out of a McCain vote, but I can completely understand why you would vote Green. Let’s just hope she takes 5% AND Obama gets elected to office, for the sake of all of us. Peace.
