“Frekuensia Kolombiana” explores the traditional forms Colombian music and its relation to Hip Hop. By way of interviews, events, situations and landscapes, the documentary uncovers a youth that constructs from exclusion a movement of hope and truth. As we witness their efforts to self-produce, organize and multiply knowledge, we realize their necessity to perpetuate, communicate, give and exist.
Through the lyrics of Camajan Club, Por Razones de Estado, Zona Marginal and others, we discover the lucid consciousness of a youth that threw art, seeks to awaken and renew its society. This documentary represents the voice of the Colombian street.
This work, directed by Vanessa Gocksch and produced by Vanessa Gocksch and Walter Hernandez, explores the current Colombian Hip Hop scene. This is the second documentary by the directress about this theme in Colombia. The first – “Testimonios Hip Hop Colombiano: Año 2000″ won Best Documentary Short in the first edition of the H20 Film Festival in New York City.
