The Nation of Islam (Muhammad Mosque 35), backed by the City of Wilmington, will be hosting a FREE STREET FESTIVAL in the City of Wilmington on Saturday September 22, 2007 titled the 1st Annual Call To Consciousness “A Day of Unity and Peace.”

The festival is being held in the “Burton – Winchester Park” (formally known as Prices Run Park) @ 26th & Pine Streets in Wilmington, Delaware from 11:00AM to 7:00PM.

The purpose of this event is to bridge the gaps in all of our individual efforts and to address the critical needs of our community especially drugs, crime, unemployment, violence and murder as a united community. This day will be filled with live music, voices from the community, vending, a children’s village and various information and social service outposts.

Some of the musical entertainment on that day will include world renowned, local and national recording artist “AL Green,” “Wise Intelligent of Poor Righteous Teachers,” “Brand Nubian,” “Lady Bug Mecca of Digable Planets,” “Wilbert Fletcher Jr. & his Quartet,” “Baseline Entertainment,” “Lakim Shabazz,” “WordSmith,” “Boot Camp Clik (Black Moon),” Just-Ice,” Popa Wu and Future Chamber,” “Angelz Inc,” “Tru-N-Living,”and “Live Wirez.”
