I was amped to see this new track posted on EL-P’s Facebook page yesterday, as I’ve been waiting for dude to drop new solo material since he dropped “I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead” back in ’07. Although it’s unmastered, the shit still hits. Whores: The Movie is a track from EL’s upcoming “WEAREALLGOINGTOBURNINHELLMEGGAMIXXX3″ – which is supposed to drop sometime this summer. I was a little heated when I found out the Reflection Eternal’s new album “Revolutions Per Minute” got pushed back to May from it’s originally-expected April release date. But I’m feeling alright about it now that Kweli and Hi-Tek have leaked yet another one of the album’s tracks. City Playgrounds is another example of the dopeness I have come to expect from the new album. If you like this, check out In This World, Just Begun, and the duo’s FREE EP “The RE:Union.” Click below to listen to Reflection Eternal’s City Playgrounds:

This track is part spoken word and part hip-hop, so you’ll have to get a minute or so in for the actual rapping to begin. Nevertheless, I picked it as this week’s hip-hop quotable due to the track’s deep lyrical content. Best of Times, which you can download for FREE here, is the second leak from Sage Francis’ upcoming album “Li(f)e” – scheduled for release May 11 on Strange Famous Records. If you like this, check out Sage’s first leak Slow Man. Click below to listen to Sage Francis’ Best of Times:

This week’s underground hip-hop quotable of the week is Mama Mia from “Bohemian Rap CD,” which you can still download for FREE here if you haven’t already. Mama Mia features dope verses from NYC underground emcees Jake Lefco, IllSpokinn, Ryan-O’Neil, Kats and Domer – and is part of a compilation CD featuring all five emcees rapping over 6 tracks created from samples of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. This is a crazy new track by Prometheus Brown aka Geo of Blue Scholars – inspired by that FOX News’ Michelle Malkin. Apparently, Geo was flipping through the channels one day, came across his favorite neo-conservative pundit, and decided to sample Sade’s Feel No Pain to create this track. This week’s underground hip-hop track of the week is ScholarMan’s Hood Stories Vol. 4, from his new album “Free Spirit Of A Troubled Soul” – which I been bumping nonstop since finally getting around to listening to it last week. ScholarMan has included a Hood Stories track in each of his last four albums, and each contains relevant lyrics and interesting storytelling. Vol. 4 is about a Iraq war veteran with post traumatic stress syndrome. Click below to listen to Hood Stories Vol. 4:

Leave You All Behind is the second preview from “Bohemian Rap CD,” an upcoming compilation mixtape featuring five of my favorite NYC underground emcees – Jake Lefco, IllSpokinn, Ryan-O’Neil, Kats and Domer, who produced the entire EP by sampling Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody to create 6 different tracks. If you like this, check out Little High / Little Low. Click below to listen to Leave You All Behind:

Magic is the second release from Cymarshall Law’s new album “Creators Kid EP” – which I just got around to downloading last night after a week without a computer, and haven’t even had a chance to bump it yet. But if it’s anything like this track, the album’s got to be hot! If you like this, check out Cy’s video for Harder Than Thou. Click below to listen to Cymarshall Law’s Magic:

This week’s underground hip-hop quotable is Kats’ Rich Dad Poor Dad, from his new album “I Can Levitate” – which is you should download for FREE if you haven’t already. The beat is by UK producer Jonesy, and the title is pretty much self-explanatory – as Kats drops verses about fatherhood through the eyes of a rich dad, a poor dad, and his own pops. Possibly my favorite track on the new album. Click below to listen to Kats’ Rich Dad Poor Dad:

This week’s underground hip-hop track of the week is Little High / Little Low by the FreeIceCream.net crew. This track is the first single from one of my most anticipated releases of 2010 – FreeIceCream.net’s “Bohemian Rap CD” – which is currently scheduled for a March release.
“Bohemian Rap CD” features five of my favorite NYC underground emcees – Jake Lefco, IllSpokinn, Ryan-O’Neil, Kats and Domer, who produced the entire EP by skillfully sampling Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody to create 6 different tracks with all five emcees are featured on each song.
