I never paid attention to region, it’s always whoever has the best lyrics for me. Lately though I guess I’ve been more listening to midwest and northeast rap.

Also, B.O.B is from Atlanta and he’s holding it down pretty damn well for a mainstream artist.

I like both of them but here’s my opinion on both south and new york, southern rap are more about club banging which is great because no one can get the job done at that like they can and as for new york there songs are more laid back, having a beer in a bar, but overall I like the south, to me its all about the beats.

Just stop whining. The south is on top. The north had its time. Northern rappers are hot, dont get it twisted, but they lack one thing, and in my opinion, always have. BEATS. noone cares about a hot verse when the beat is trash. Anyone can talk a line, what makes hip hop is the message AND a hot beat to flow wit. Instead of whining, take a lesson, and step up the beats, then maybe you be back on top again.

Jay z said it best the originator none greater, Hip hop could of never originated from the south or anywhere else, it was just a cool that originated in nyc that wasn’t really found anywhere else, but as the saying goes monkeys see monkeys do.Hiphop is the product of a gritty street life envionment rapping djaying grafitti breakdancing and so on, thats hiphop, In a sense business made it available to the masses, which was a blessing for the world, but busines is business and money will be its bottom line, and when its done with something there is usually something else it can get its greedy paws on. Hip hop taught the world how to dress speak floss swag being fresh dope and all that, without that I’m sorry to say I’ve been in parts of the south back in the day and cats were super corny stuck in 1983, now I go back there and its seems like the new generation is fairing better, why because I would say the internet has has been an instant gratification tool in learning about whats going on in other places rather then waiting for a tv show a music video or a concert to gawk at whats what. Hip Hop is a technology from nyc people pay hommage no other ground on earth was fertile enough for its conception, its a science and mathematics from the north, but once something is taught it cant be untaught so we’ll see what happens but all yall talking this shit about nyc, trust me that same cool that allowed the forefathers of hiphhop to create the shit is still there don’t sleep. Oh yeah do some research for what ever your region is as far as the earliest imitations of hiphop before they started getting certain shit correct most of that shit was wack, thats why I give the utmost props to those who started the shit, they had nothing to work with and they did it, son come on credit is infinitely due word up we all stand on the shoulders of giants..

um okay well my opinion is that the north had their time and now its the south’s turn. aolt of northerners especially New Yorkers, have always been put on a pedistle so now that they’re having to take the back seat they’re mad. i LOVE jay-z and a few others but i also love t.i,gucci mane, lil wayne and lots more. what i’m trying to say is basically im tired of hearing that the south killed hip hop. no, we didnt. frankly i dont see the north doing SHIT except fo jay-z and maino lol. and um maino isn’t all that LYRICAL. so if someone isnt lyrical it doesnt matter where they’re from. so THE END :]

You people have 2 know that it’s not just the south that’s causing the problems we have 2day, it’s camercial music period. I mean you have rappers that aren’t from the south but are still garbage like, Lil Mamma, New Boyz, Crank Dat Boyz, & others. All we have 2 do is do what we did back then (mix sick flows with sick beats), I mean think about it, why do people play the music from the south? because they have that kind of music that makes you wanna dance 2 (southern style). Remember Ma$e, MC Hammer, Salt-N-Pepa, & people like those? because they had 100% Quality Hip Hop Music because they combine dope rhymes with dope beats. So 4 all you underground rappers that ain’t getting any airplay from the radio stations, STOP MAKING BORING BEATS THAT MAKE PEOPLE FALL A SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
