These cats just emailed me a link to their new track I Get Down, but I couldn’t get it to download from my work computer, so I’ll have to peep it later. But also included in the email was this video from last year – which I thought was dope and decided to post instead. Collective Efforts is an Atlanta-based underground hip-hop group, and Crazy Things is from their album “Time For Hope.”
Get Up is the second preview track for Georgia & Declaime’s upcoming album “SomeOthaShip” – scheduled to drop sometime in February. Get Up was produced by Oddisee and features contributions from Prince Po, yU, and German DMC Supremacy champion DJ Clear. In my opinion, another reason to look forward to “SomeOthaShip.” If you like this, check out the album’s other preview track Endure. Click below to listen to Georgia & Declaime’s Get Up:

Mr. Beatz is a local NYC emcee who caught my eye a while back when he dropped a video for his track Plain and Simple. He is currently wrapping up his new album “Spit Therapy,” and Keep Rockin is the first preview from that album. “Spit Therapy” is scheduled for March release. Juggling is produced by Mr. Joeker. If you like this, check out the other previous two tracks from the mixtape – Discrimination and No Sleep. Click below to listen to Cymarshall Law’s Juggling:

I stumbled across Kosha Dillz about a year back when he dropped a nice collaboration album with C-Rayz Walz called “Freestyle Vs. Written.” So I was amped when I found this video on YouTube. Cellular Phone is a track from Kosha’s new album “Beverly Dillz.”
Vibrations is the fourth release from Bisco Smith’s brand new album “The Broadcast” – which finally dropped yesterday, and has a release party going on tonight at No Malice Palace in NYC’s East Village. Vibrations is an escapist type of track which Bisc says can “help you forget the past and future for the time being and just exist in the moment.” If you like this, click to check out the three previous releases from the new album, Railroads, Morning Breath, and Fresh Water, and be sure to pick up a copy of the album if you haven’t already. King is the first release from Core Rhythm’s new album “The Ecology” – which is scheduled to drop today. If you’re in the NYC area, you should definitely try to hit Core’s album release listening party tomorrow at the No Malice Palace in East Village. The party will feature Core’s new album as well as Bisco Smith’s “The Broadcast.” Click below to listen to Core Rhythm’s King:

This week’s underground hip-hop quotable is Kats’ Rich Dad Poor Dad, from his new album “I Can Levitate” – which is you should download for FREE if you haven’t already. The beat is by UK producer Jonesy, and the title is pretty much self-explanatory – as Kats drops verses about fatherhood through the eyes of a rich dad, a poor dad, and his own pops. Possibly my favorite track on the new album. Click below to listen to Kats’ Rich Dad Poor Dad:

And be sure to follow along with the lyrics after the break. (more…)

I came across NYC underground emcee Rabbi Darkside about a year ago when he dropped a video for State of the Union, and then caught him on a bunch of collaborations with other local hip-hop artists. Therefore, I was pleased to see him drop “Darkside of 2009,” a mixtape containing unreleased solo tracks, international collaborations, and more featuring Rabbi D as a rapper, deejay and beatboxer. On first listen, the shit is definitely impressive. Click below to download Rabbi Darkside’s “Darkside of 2009″ for FREE:
